| | Minimun age for entry to the cinema
I have two kids, 4years and 3 years old.
I wonder if I am eligible to go to see a movie with my kids.
If so, do they have to pay? How much is the tariff?
Thank you
Best regards

Best is to look at the website of the cinema you want to visit, they will have info about minimum legal age for every movie.
Kitag and Arena have a minimum age of 4 (which is also the lowest classification of at least the kanton of Zürich.)
And yes, you would have to pay for every chair used.

As a rule it's 6 years old and they normally check, but from when my son was about 5 and a half we taught him to blag the guy at the entrance that he was 6.
Then in the next breath teaching him that lying is actually wrong... | The following 5 users would like to thank for this useful post: | |

The rule in Zürich is 4 (category SB), and kids of age 4 and 5 always need to have an adult along.
However large majority of the cartoons is classified for a minimum age of 6

i think it is not good to put your kids for more than an hour watching fast moving cartoon with colours and high sounds. take them to an open area, it is much better.

The German classification system is now used. But in cinemas it is possible that children up to two years younger than the age restriction are allowed to enter, if accompanied by an adult.
The German system also now applied to DVDs.
The Swiss only classify films that the Germans have not classified or where the Swiss commission disagrees with the German classification age. http://merlin.obs.coe.int/iris/2012/1/article16.en.html |

It seems that the Swiss have not heard that there is a minimum age for kids at a movie theatre.
It probably depends on the kid and the movie - as long as they are not annoying other patrons. http://www.nuggi.ch/A_Box_Stadt/Box_...atheNuggi.html
But as with many things in Switzerland, any age restriction that does apply, is different in different Kantons -

At least provide some evidence to back up your statements.
Noise can of course be harmful to young ears if it is too high, but otherwise an occasional 1.5 hours of watching "fast moving colours" in a cinema is not going to make your children go blind.

In a study a lab rat was left sat in front of a cinema screen for one week non-stop and it died. Of starvation. | Quote: | | | | | Based on your professional medical opinion? At least provide some evidence to back up your statements.
