Re: Restaurant in Zurich providing buffet?

Chalet India in horgen ( near horgen overdorf ) is the best Indian food I've tasted in Switzerland. A little westernized but very very tasty. They have a buffet on Sunday evenings , but the menu food is better. i would go as far as to say it's tastiest Indian food I've eaten apart from perhaps my mum's cooking )

not quite Zurich , but well worth the trip.

The only thing they can't seem to do well is poppadom - I don't quite get it to be honest !!

Re: Restaurant in Zurich providing buffet?

Sure no problem! If you are going at a busy time ( Thursday , Friday, Saturday evening) worth making a reservation.

A couple of caveats, I've been there 25+ times ( so Im reaching a statistically significant sample space ) I would say 80 percent of the time it's amazing food. I guess the main chef is responsible for the great food. I believe he was away when the food was not as special ..... Sometimes the service can be a bit slow .

When I go with friends we have the muttar paneer, karai murg , lamb vindaloo, fish malabar and Tarka dal. Can recommend all of those

Not really, indeed, not the Indian restaurant itself, I meant the quality of food. She left her native India to study in Europe many years ago, is living for years in a country where there are Indian restaurants but not very good, so I thought I could brag a little... Besides, she is married to a non-Indian guy so she might be fed up with potatoes...
Of course we will be trying other stuff too, but I know her and know what she really likes.

They've moved it to Tuesdays and Wednesdays (at least last month they did ).

Otherwise, any of the big hotels do all-you-can-eat Sunday brunches. The Hilton has a fish buffet on Fridays. (no idea of prices)
will try this kerala restaurant
