Tell me did Australians also stop up into the wee small hours of the morning to watch Jeux San Frontières ( also from the EBU stable & going strong in
the 1970's & 80's) known as It's a Knockout in English speaking countries and if so did Australians feel the urge to setup their own Knock Out teams down under ?
Thanks for making me remember:

There are topics where you better not show off your knowledge, Tom. I sincerely hope you had to google this
Nope, I've known it for decades, since the days when we were doing stuff for the PTT.

Or not, as it's never been about the EU, and in fact pre-dates the EU by several decades... as everyone here has been telling you.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest

So are we all planning to watch it?

It's total car crash TV, horrifying crap.. But I do watch it maybe every second year..

This year could be more car crash with the mix of location, finalists countries, the awful singers all trying to shout peace and love..often towards people or cultures that they hate.

No thanks otherwise Nigel Farage will be using it as his trump card or ( in Jeux San Frontières parlance )
Nigel could use it to play his Joker for the Brexit Party, in the forthcoming European Parliamentary Elections
in the UK.
