Warhammer / Games workshop - English speaking groups?

Hey there 👋,

Anyone collect/play Warhammer/Games workshop miniatures around Zurich?

Was thinking of getting back into it, but seems most of the shops/clubs here just focus on doing it in German. Was wondering if there is an English speaking community of hobbyists/players 😄💭.

I will be moving to Zurich in the 17th of August. I’ve never played Warhammer but I do collect and paint their miniatures . I also do some terrain building using 3D printing.

Cool, feel free to DM me when you finally get here 👍.

Same really, was always more of a painter but would be nice to meet up with some peeps and try it out.

Hey there. I would also be interested in meeting English speaking people in Zurich to play Warhammer. I am very new to using the forum so not sure exactly how to DM you. Still working it out.

Please feel free to DM me to discuss.

I like strategy games, but not into the actual painting of miniatures.

Re: Warhammer / Games workshop - English speaking groups?

Hey all,

Thanks for your replies. So I think I'm going to set up a WhatsApp group, so people can paint/play/hang out together with other English speakers with ease.

Will probably do this at the weekend, so keep an eye on your DMs 😎.

Just ordered an Age of Sigma starter set (see here) with some paints, rule book and miniatures, will arrive sometime next week. Would be happy to try out a game with someone.

Also happy to collect/play 40k, but definitely very interested AoS too 😄.

Cheers.

Hey guys!

Haven't played Warhammer in ages and would love to get together with some people and play some.

Let me know if there is a group or anything going.

Thanks

Re: Warhammer / Games workshop - English speaking groups?

Hey guys,

I'm in the Zurich area and would also be interested in some WH40K games. I'm very much in the all the gear and no idea category though as I have my smurf army from teens (1990's) and I haven't touched the game since then. But I'd love to get back into it.

So if you guys are playing any WH40k and have room for 1 more then please let me know

Also, I'm old... in my 40s in case that matters.

Hi,

I'm also living in Zurich. For what it is worth I have 30K and Adeptus Titanicus stuff with me here. I'm sure some of the 30K marines can be ported to 40K if someone teaches me the current edition rules

Hi, if you're interested in any sort of gaming around Switzerland, then you should check out the Swiss RPG discord ... they have all sorts of games going on, including Warhammer, and channels for you to discuss miniatures, painting, rule variations, ... the list goes on!

Alp's the one who really got that group going, and is one of the driving forces who keeps it organised. I just pop in now and then for a meetup, a game, or an argument about obscure rules.

Hey everyone I would also be super interested in meeting up to play. Moved to Zurich a year ago from London and recently got back into 40k after 15 years away from the hobby! I can hardly remember the rules anymore so would need some help getting back up to speed

Re: Warhammer / Games workshop - English speaking groups?

Did anyone have any luck with the Discord groups?
If not we could set up a common whatsapp chat.

Re: Warhammer / Games workshop - English speaking groups?

I haven't played AoS, but I'd be happy to try it. Especially if you (or anyone) has enough models for two players.
Also, with the recently announced Aeldari releases I can see myself starting a new force for 40K as well :P

I haven't got models for 2 armies in AoS. And all of them are in Sweden so I don't know if I should bring them since it seems 40K is more popular here. I think I will bring a small force of my Sisters of Battle

Hi All, I'm also based in Zurich and recently got back into miniatures painting and playing. I have Warhammer, Confrontation and Middle-Earth Strategy Battle. Would love to be added to any whatsapp group of English speakers sharing the same hobby!
