Used to be Arbaton cinema but was taken over by Swisscom. They used to show most English films in English. Now its the reverse. They show most now in German dubbed. So dumb. And in a room ( Saal ) thats not much bigger than my lounge room!!

Re: Blue cinema Zurich

There are so many cinemas in Zürich, many of which show original language movies, so I ask: who cares?

So a failing business is taken over and the new owner changes their business model. Sacrilege!

Meanwhile, Pathé in Dietlikon is running sponsored posts on Facebook to say that they are going back to showing more original version films.

My mistake. Arbaton was one of the cinemas of the Kitag Group. Now Kitag is called “bluecinemas“ and operated by Swisscom

No, the sacrilege is to not show the movies in their original language.

I have grown up watching movies in their original languages (with subtitles of course), and this is one of the ways I got to practice my foreign languages. Yes, including cartoons when I was little. Dubbing is't barbaric, it's like telling people there are no other cultures and other languages than your language, your culture.

Rant over.
