Hi all,

I am based in Lausanne-area and have been looking for places to play music but nothing suggests an easy connection with like-minded musicians. I am an pretty experienced drummer, with background in metal genres and surrounding metal-spirited music. Mostly, doom, sludge, darkfolk, gothic rock and ambient.

I was curious if anyone is looking to assemble a band? OR, please suggest me, where should I look for a rental space, somewhere I can set up my drum kit, at least, or put a band together. Any advice is appreciated.

Rehearsal space is hard to find. May be different in Lausanne. Somewhere in "petites annonces"? I have no idea what it would even be called in French. Sometimes you get lucky in some industrial areas, a storage room they don't need anymore etc.



As for metal-spirited music, sorry, can't help you. Not really my cup of tea (or chalice of blood, to be more metal). Fun to listen to sometimes, but I've never played any. But once concerts are allowed again, do check out the Z7 in Pratteln.

Kiff in Aarau, Dynamo in Zurich, PTR Geneve, Les Docks Lausanne, Pont Rouge Monthey to name a few.
Of course there are bigger venues like the hallenstadion, St.Jakob, Komplex 457, x tra, .....

@Dare, what you play? I am metal-spirited but open-minded I've played hip-hop, jazzy things, rock, etc. I am looking for any outlet right now.

@Dzdz: Right now, I play in a Blues band (keys). Have played "Jazzy Things", Rock, some Funk, Folk, Country (by public demand), 60s Soul, Chansons, dabbled in HipHop, probably none of it well. Oh, and a lot of "classical things". Problem is, you're in Lausanne, I'm nowhere near you.

a small update. We've managed to connect with a guitar player in Bern and started making music over 6 months ago. Even recorded an EP (see https://thecraton.bandcamp.com/). If anyone here is interested in jumping on the project, please let me know. We are looking for bass and vocals. For the time being, you won't need your own rig.
