Bars showing Eurovision 09?

I have a couple of female friends coming over in a couple of weeks. They want to go and watch the Eurovision song contest in a bar. Does anyone know of any places in Zurich that will be showing it?

And yes, I do know how crap it is...but I have to go with the guests' wishes.

Don't let them drink though. One glass of wine and they're anybody's. And never remember a thing in the morning.

Hey, don't knock Eurovision. I don't watch it myself but wasn't ABBA discovered through it?

How unfortunate for them. I shall do my utmost to prevent them from causing themselves embarrassment.

They like absinthe, I presume?

Leave some kirsch-filled chocolates lying around, too.

(Why the heck am I encouraging you, DB?)

As long as there's a gentleman looking after them, such as you, they'll drink whatever they're offered.

Blakey, you might actually want to watch it this year as I have read that Dita Von Teese will be doing one of her burlesque routines behind one of the entries

It is fortunate that a solution to your problem was found so quickly.

May I invite my Uncle along, too? I'm sure your lady friends would be delighted to spend an evening in the company of such an urbane, cosmopolitan homme-du-monde, no?

The more gentlemen to look after them the better. And they're fools for an experienced man with a good tale to tell.

Dita Von Teese? Maybe worth a peek. With these top names they're close to creating a credible competition now. Like Dancing on Ice.

Then I shall invite the rest of the gentlemen from my Uncle's club over, too.

I expect I'll have to ask them to bring their own wingbacked leather armchairs, though...

Re: Bars showing Eurovision 09?

Switzerland actually have quite a good entry this year, so it will probably score 'Nil Points'.

Re: Bars showing Eurovision 09?

It is said that a gentleman is someone who never hurts anyone's feelings unintentionally. Unfortunately, it is also said that Mr Dougal is very intentioned. Whether the latter adjective should be preceded by "well-" is still a matter of impassioned debate among his former companions and consorts. Until the matter is resolved by an independent jury, I would advise you and your friends to proceed with utmost caution and prudence, Ms Blakey.

Ooo, Eurovision song contest... Cool

Slovenia (country where I come from) has big expectations this year. I am not totally sure about our song...

But, yes, we will probably find one bar and watch this there.

Everywhere south of the Danube has big expectations these days.

Not much hope for the rest of us, though...

Is Terry Wogan still hosting it? I love his comments - he really made it funny. Then there is the drinking game

Re: Bars showing Eurovision 09?

Apparently not. It'll be Graham Norton this year. The song has been written by Andrew Lloyd Webber so winning the show is a foregone conclusion. Surely?

So noone knows of any bars that are showing it then?
