Open-air Cinema

Hi all you movie lovers...Open-air Cinema season is coming up!

I thought I wanna share this with you and especially to all the newbie’s. Hopefully we’ll have a nice and warm summer and for those, how will be around and haven’t experienced Open-air Cinema here... This is definitely a nice way to combine your passion for movies and a special outdoor experience while watching the movie under the star-spattered sky. Okay this sounds maybe a little too cheese
While I’m from this area I can recommend Open-air Cinema Aarau with it’s nice atmosphere and very good food (yummy)!

And here you’ll find the Open-air Cinema guide for your region:

Have Fun!

Insider tip...it's the all you can smoke (and breathe 2nd hand smoke) festival. Ever since the smoking bans have taken affect, this is where the nicotine addicts congregate. And the food is incredibly overpriced.

Doesn't it usually rain just on the night you wanna go and see a movie?

Yes it does, in fact it absolutely lashes, so yer hot-dog is mushy and yer ass is so wet that there is a fear of Blasenentzündung (cystitis) BUT as there is always hope and we are all positive souls, we try again and again and one day it will be the perfect romantic evening we see advertised

Yeah, which brought the film U-571 particularly to life when we went to the Orange openair cinema to see it back in 2000.

Hot tip for those wanting to visit the Orange openair at Zürihorn - leave your car at home. Most of the area is organised rubble owing to the extensive roadworks and parking has been massively reduced.

Re: Open-air Cinema

so, we have tickets for tonight's orange cinema, we have received an automated voice mail from Orange cinema but we are struggling to fully understand it - does anyone know if they call the event off on days like today? can't see anything on the website, wondering if the automated voice mail might be telling us it is canceled? anyone know anything?

Re: Open-air Cinema

The BIG advantage of the one at YVERDON is that the seats are undercover. It's shown at what was previously the horse-racing tribune.
Drove past on Tuesday during a terrific storm, and noticed it was not even cancelled.

For the programme, see http://www.citecine.ch/openair.php though I don't think there are any films in English this year.

I've heard that the open-air films on a Thursday night in the Rote Fabrik are free again this year....... but it always rains, and the films are cr@p.

Re: Open-air Cinema

At the Marzilibad in Bern this week, they are showing the Monty Python films each night with the finale on Saturday night being "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and a party/dance afterward. At CHF12, that could be a fun, cheap night out IMO.
