i just cant understand why its a problem for some ppl, do they envy a successful business or they are angry because others can get happy with a sandwich / easy life and they dont? there are ppl here who want to have a subway sandwich because they like it (i hate kebab btw). then a subway s. will open, and they go therea and eat. those who dont like it wont go there. simple.

Also, I'm very, very envious of those get happy with a sandwich, and the easy life a sandwich provides. |

If so, I've been defending Subway and other global chains here. They are serving a market with consumers that want their products. I see absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying a Subway sub (grinder). Whenever the Zürich location opens I will stop by for one.
Think of it like this: Just as there are those who denounce McFood in the US, there will also be such people in Europe. I would think that there are more opponents here, as it can seem like an American invasion and the proliferation of the so-called McWorld.

| | Re: Subway Sandwiches | Quote: | | | | | And whats the story on hooters? anyone know where they will be located and when they open? tnx | | | | | Google is your friend. It is in Interlanken. I have been to Interlanken, but did not notice Hooters - probably too busy admiring the mountains and architecture.
I seem to recall a Subway in Zug back in 2001 - but it might have been a Subway clone. Out of all the fast food, Subway is by far my favorative, and probably the healthiest too. Welcome to the Homepage of Hooters of Interlaken, Switzerland! http://www.hooters-interlaken.ch/EN/home/ |

Oh wait, I did loose 50kg+, but without Subway... my bad.

HOOTERS (Zurich one) finally opened... and i went there last night with friends... of course, the HOOTERS are full of MEN, which is no surprise. Afterall, well well well ... it was kind of a disappointment!
The Hooters look either underage or too old, only 1 or 2 of them really live up to the name of Hooters.
Food is okay... but hey who really expect to have good food there?! Even the suppose to be tasty Chicken Wings... I think it didn't taste as good, could it be because of those swiss chicken?
But one thing is funny there. We found that there are 2 groups of Hooters. One in black top and pants; Another one is white top & orange pants. So we asked... hehe... Those Girls in Black are the 'instructor' from USA .. the Original Hooters We're just surprise of how 'professional' they are

Subway is just disgusting, had worked in a place where just Subway and Spar were there, I ended up cooking my OWN food at home and bringing it at work.
This is the reaction that Subway smell would provoke to my stomach: vomit.
The bread is inconsistent and all those mixed ingredients and sauces are horrific. How can people get used to such disgusting mixture, and moreover like it? |

But apart from that, you enjoyed the sandwich

For those concerned: the ‘coming soon’ signs are *back* in the window as of yesterday.
Barely a hint that _anything_ has been done construction/renovation-wise since the signs were originally hung up last December, but there you go…

I'm sorry, but it was a direct response to Subway being healthy. Americans believe this because of their long-running ad campaign with Jared, in which he discusses how he lost hundreds of pounds by simply eating Subway sandwiches everyday! Americans now believe that eating a foot-long sub everyday is going to make them lose weight, i.e. the image of Subway being health food. They even made an entire South Park episode about it years ago.

I walked past Hooters on its opening night I believe, and saw a few children and families in there, which struck me as very liberal and also that the windows weren't darkened.
Edit: Subway sandwiches are pretty poor, what's needed is an M&S

For those in Zug, "New York Food" in the centre of town is a Subway in everything but name. Even down to the Southwest Sauce |

I recently heard that Hooters closed down back in my home town. It turns out that I'm closer to a Hooters in Switzerland than I would be back in the US -- kind of freaky.

I went into one a few years ago craving a (albeit admittedly disgusting) “cheese steak” sandwich but to my dismay they pre-add green peppers into the slop they throw on the grill, thereby making it inedible.

Personally I love the green peppers anyway, so they can keep on adding them for me, no problem |

For those still interested, every day for the last 2 weeks (or so) there have been several vans and work crews around the site.
Sloooooooooly things seem to be coming together, but from peeking in the doors it’s still a loooooong ways off.
Apparently the contractor/constructionist’s credo of “for every 10 minutes I work I get 20 minutes break. Not including cigarette, toilet and cell phone breaks” is in high practice here.
