Re: Subway Sandwiches (the new Subway at Selnau in here!!!)

Hm... I don't see the great attraction to subway when in a place where you have so many localy own businesses to eat at... Then again, I use to work at a subway back in Canada, and "eat fresh" my @ss. Sure, I like subway on occasion, but then again, I lived in a small town with the only locally own restaurants being 2 donair/pizza shops, 3 chinese restaurants, and 1 western cuisine. One thing I would LOVE to see open up here in Suisse but I know it won't, would be Tim Hortons. Aw man, I could go for an ice cap and a turkey bacon sandwich with honey mustard right now... and all for the cheap price of arund $8 (the ice cap and sandwich are large :P). But, then again, thats not going to happen here. Its like me hoping to find a restaurant that would serve poutine... *drools* oh how I miss Canadian food :P

The thread has also improved since 2006 The Subway is in fact near Pelikanstrasse, but at Sihlstrasse. They offer winter soups now... Has anybody tried them yet?

Subway is just disgusting, had worked in a place where just Subway and Spar were there, I ended up cooking my OWN food at home and bringing it at work.

This is the reaction that Subway smell would provoke to my stomach: vomit.

The bread is inconsistent and all those mixed ingredients and sauces are horrific. How can people get used to such disgusting mixture, and moreover like it?

Why are you posting this ? You are on the other side of the world and no one cares about your NZ Subway franchise.

There is probably no difference - Subway, like MacDonald's, should be identical round the planet.

What is different is NZ and Switzerland.

By the way, have you noticed that eating at Subway effects your use of the shift key??

Re: Subway Sandwiches (the new Subway at Selnau in here!!!)

I think Subway is pretty good as far as fast food goes, it is one of the few places in Zurich where you can pick your own ingredients and generally I go heavy on the vegetables...probably not the 'freshest' vegetables. Problem with most Swiss sandwiches, is well, the ingredients would not be my preference (sure I like them some times) but sometimes I like to control what is on my sandwich....nothing wrong with giving people choice...if Han's sandwich shop gave choice I would prefer that over Subway.

We've been going to subway in Waldshut for a long time. Very convenient if you are shopping at Famila just over the road.
The prices in Switzerland at Subway are nuts!

This is exactly how searching landed me in this thread...I Just spent a week in Barcelona and to save money for dining out in the evenings, we had a few Subway subs for lunch. It's lovely when you can eat your sandwich sitting in the sun in a little park filled with orange trees.

I had forgotten how wonderfully tasty Subway subs are. Honestly, they taste exactly the same! I suppose that is a little creepy, but I'm going with it. Anyway, for a 15 cm Turkey Breast Sub in Spain it is 3.65 Euro. How much would the same sub be in Switzerland?

I did a google search for "Subway Switzerland" and naturally it brought me to the EF. Thanks for the link! I thought it would be about 7 CHF, so 8.40 is no big surprise.
