Clubbing for young people (18-25 yr olds)

I'm sure this has already been posted or something similar, but i'm new and just moved to Zurich for my job. I am wanting to go out this weekend to some clubs but don't really know anywhere to go. Can someone please suggest some clubs to go to for younger people?
Cheers.

tillate.ch for parties; it gives you the kind of music and the minimum entry age.

Re: Clubbing for young people (18-25 yr olds)

yes indeed look up the sites that were mentionned

here are my personal recommendations regarding clubbing in general in the Zh(I posted this on another forum not long ago):

Züri west has loads... Kreis 5 as a whole is fun day or night

look for flyers for parties in the shops they're everywhere downtown(independent shops and bars often have flyer corners).

every second thursday of the month at stall 6 (which is quite central, close to the Hbf) the guys from hum records(vinyl records shop in Kreis 4) play soul and funk and great overall music; go if you want a taste of something different.

Club Q dress to impress and to dance

Supermarket Club next to the Freitag shop.

Zukunft. The place is so nice. And it's got that nice little strange underground vibe(it is underground after all ah!) my favorite place

there is so much going on, some would argue there's too much for such a small city.

extra that I don't really know well
Alte Börse, techno minimal and such
Rohstofflager, lots of drum and bass, house music etc
Hive club

Rote Fabrik has the one off parties but it's mostly concerts.

There is a LOT going on. If you want more detailed recommendations please give more info as to what you are after.

Re: Clubbing for young people (18-25 yr olds)

Zurich has quite a big clubbing scene, considering that the city itself is so small.
I would recommend kaufleuten, which is also a really good restaurant. It's right by paradeplatz. Music is amazing, depending when you go, they play latin, hip hop, house, mash up, urban. Everything!
I also recommend encore, which is in the seefeld district. Interior is amazing!
Jade, which is also near paradeplatz is great. The age is from 21, so there are "older" people there.

Re: Clubbing for young people (18-25 yr olds)

tilllate or usgang.ch is usually a good reference.

The atmosphere and crowd vary quite a bit, but if you try:

Kaufleuten
Mascotte
Zukunft
Plaza
Harterei
Jade
X-tra
Kanzlei

..you'll probably find what you're looking for.

Years ago, my older sister came to say goodnight to my parents who were hosting a dinner party. As she headed off to bed, one of my parent's guests asked "How old is old?", as it had been part of a discussion they were having.

My at-that-time 8-year old sister considered her reply as expectant faces stared at her from around the table.

"oh, 20, 21?" was her measured response.

She left to go bed as an air of depression settled in around the table.

Well, some "oldies", me included (), went clubbing in Zurich last Friday night and a darn fine, fun time we had as well. Just need to allow a few days for full recovery.

Am unshamedly, looking forward to the next Friday or Saturday clubbing all-niter!

Also helps if:

A) you don't look foreign
B) you are not ugly/badly dressed

It's impossible to help without a pic of you and your outfit... and the girl of course.

Seriously:
a) bouncers in Switzerland do stereotype and do not like "middle eastern looking young men". Some do not make a secret at all out of it, especially in Bern. [Berne] No nightclub entry without C permit or CH passport!

b) It is always easy to shout "racism" or "just because I'm black". I have first hand witnessed an Indian guy in a club in Zurich making a scene cause the bouncer did not let him in. Honestly: If you dress up like the Fresh Prince can you really not blame it on your skin color.
