Hi folks, its my birthday today and really love Indian food, does anyone know if there is an Indian Restaurant in Aarau/Olten/Baden, would need to be somewhere we can get to by public transport.

Any help is much appreciated.

Have to write to say thank you soooooo much lost_inbroad this restaurant was fantastic very authentic indian food and even do mexican which suited our daughter better, everything was brilliant, will definitely be back!

Also can't believe we haven't visited Olten before what a beautiful town!

Try http://www.kaschmir-laufenburg.ch, they have one in Laufenburg and one in Frick.

I can't speak for the Laufenburg one but i had a good dinner in Frick's location.

That and the parking is always packed during the week, loads of people come in for a quick lunch or a lovely dinner.

Dont expect luxury but the food is very good

Just noticed last thursday, that there is a new Indian restaurant next door to the Penny Farthing pub in Aarau (it used to be a Thai restaurant)

Anyone experienced it? It has only been open a week or two and I cannot find it in Google yet.

We went there last night. Expensive and disappointing. Only offered a buffet (on a Sat night?), when we asked for ala Carte menu, they declined saying we would just get what they already offered at the buffet. Service spotty, and at the end when paying by card we were clearly shown how to enter a tip (we didn't - it was a self-serve buffet). Compared with Chalet India in Horgen.. well, we won't be going back.

Thanks for the feedback Karl - I was hoping that it would have been at least half decent as it only takes me 20 minutes by train to get there.

Since they opened the Hong Kong branch next to my workplace in Oerlikon, I have been eating their beef vindaloo with a Nan bread and this has been enough to keep me and the wife "curried up" until we go back to the UK.

I just cannot see the point in going through the cost and hassle to open a restaurant when you can not get the food right- I may try out the place in Horgen as you recommend.
