As a single mum maybe moving to Zug for work can anyone advise me as to the ease of obtaining good childcare. Does anyone know how easy it is to get an au pair?

Have not needed childcare in Zug, but if it is like most of the rest of Switzerland, it will probably not be easy. There should be some official form of creche/daycare and you should get priority being a working single parent, but there is likely waiting lists. For au pair, I would search the forum there has been a lof of discussion, but if you need full time childcare, ie. 40 hrs. or more a week, an au pair is probably not an option.

How old are the children?

I can confirm that the Tagesheim places in runningdeer's link give priority to single parent families. They also subsidise according to your income (if it is less than something like CHF 175k per year). You need to live in Zug City though.

There a couple of new care centers that opened in Zug recently - and Little Star.

Places cost around CHF 120 per day per kid. Places from 4 years old can be slightly cheaper and we pay CHF 100 per day for a 4 year old doing kindergarten.
