10th Wedding Anniversary Ideas

Need.Help.Please. It's on the 9th of February and I'm clueless as to what I should do.

I have 2 children (2 1/2 and 9 months old) so if you have any suggestions for going away somewhere, it would be handy if they are child friendly too.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thank you. Danke. Merci. Grazi.

How about getting a babysitter and going somewhere just you and him?

Grandma if possible.
A 10th wedding anniversary is special !!
Buy him a special gift, something really fun, so that when he surprises you, you'll suprise him too.

Babysitter for a few hours = no problem. For more than that = problem. Grandma is in the UK.

We're (him and I) are actually a bunch of real dorks. He is stumped as to what to do as well! Haha

Re: 10th Wedding Anniversary Ideas

Hi crazy idea perhaps but we could swap a night of babysitting if you want to have a romantic night away! I have a BIG birthday coming up in March and would love to have a kid-free night away. Both mum's in uk and canada. I have a just turned 3 year old and a 4 month old. We also live in Adliswil. Anyway just an idea-friend's of mine do this and seems to work out well!

Hmmm, not sure if I could cope with 4 kids under the age of 3 pm me with what you have in mind and how we could go about doing this. I'm definitely up for giving it a shot!

Oh and by the way.. You have a very beautiful name

I second that.
I'd offer to watch the 2 1/2 year old, but kids under 1 year scare me. Calling for a volonteer for the younger one so that Meisie can have a romance holiday for just two!

Babies are the easy ones..especially at night. Just eat and sleep!
I can only dream of that for my 3 year old

Re: 10th Wedding Anniversary Ideas

We're in Biel and some friends use babysitters found through the Swiss Red Cross. You need to register and pay (I think) 50chf and they give you a list of registered babysitters. They say that they've never had a problem and find it really useful if they want to leave the twins and go out somewhere. I assume it's a country-wide scheme, not just here.

10 years - congratulations! Definitely worth a child-free evening

Re: 10th Wedding Anniversary Ideas

Hello!

Its our 10th Wedding Anniversary on March the 24th this year too!! We have booked a week in the sun for the second week of the Feb school hols. The hotel looks fab and has kids clubs available so that we can have a romantic dinner or lunch whenever we want. Its hard when all babysitters are back in the U.K. and you don't really know anyone well enough to start a babysitting circle, but I'm sure you will find something to do to celebrate! Did you know its tin for this anniversary? I now have the task of finding a gift for hubby made of it that hasn't come from the Heinz factory!!

Congrats and enjoy!

Aaahhh Begga.. You such a honey bunny <3. Very sweet of you to advertise on my behalf, however, kids under 1 may scare you but the peeps on this forum scare me! Haha! Just kidding!!!! Thing is, it's even daunting leaving my kids with a family member.. I stress soo much that something goes wrong!

Re: 10th Wedding Anniversary Ideas

We're hitting number 10 this year too. And since we're both turning 40 as well (well, actually one of us already has ) we have been persuaded to have a bit of a party. Still in the planning but it definitely involves food, drink, and getting a grandma or two over for some babysitting!

I have a friend who took his whole family back to their honeymoon destination (Mauritius) on their 10th anniversary.... bit expensive I reckon though!

Anyway, this hotel (where we haven't been by the way but always planned to sometime) sounds amazing if you want to go away with the kids but get time off too: http://www.kinderhotel.ch/en/hotel.html

There are also a bunch of "kinderhotels" in Austria - just google kinderhotel and you'll find them. The aim of all these places is really to entertain kids so that parents also have a great time both with and without the kids.

Or how about going to the UK, dropping the kids at Grandmas and finding a romatic hotel in the UK (there are some nice places in the UK, I think we forget sometimes!)

Re: 10th Wedding Anniversary Ideas

I have the same "problem" with the babysitter for several hours.

I can really recommend the Sunstar Hotel Group

We went to Davos (not during WEF times of course). They have family rooms, wellness and a pool, baby sitting services and much more, special baby menus etc. The location is also fantastic. You can just go out for a few hours and come back easily, which is really sometimes necessary with the little ones.

You can go for a walk, swim or snow sports. The Hoehenweg has also tons of squirrels - and spotting them is a real fun sport for the little ones.

And yes: CONGRATULATIONS
