| | Nausea and fatigue
Hey all,
Recently I've been feeling really nauseous and tired constantly. If it weren't for the fact that it's biologically impossible, I'd think I was pregnant. Does anybody else go through phases of this? What have you found to be the cause and how have you managed to get rid of it? It's not exactly debilitating, but very annoying, and makes doing day to day things more difficult than they should be. Any advice would be appreciated... thanks!

Twice it has gotten so bad, that I had to throw up, simply because I dislike this place and the people and I cannot leave as yet. I also feel down a lot...and this grey weather isn't helping at all. Things to do to supress these feelings and overall feel happier again...hmm , exercise (I push myself even if I don't feel like it)..exercise will release endorphins and seratonin and will make you sleep better at night and stay in shape. Another thing are massages and visits to thermal baths. I especially like the thermal bath in Rheinfelden. Chocolate may provide you a quick fix but it won't help in the long run.

Its also possible you have Anaemia.
Either way, if you are feeling poorly you really need to go to the doctor.
I have been feeling awful for the past month and I have been so stressed which is why I think I am feeling sick and tired ( to the point where I cannot keep my eyes open) but I am still going to the doctor to check it out this week.
I suggest you ask them to do a blood test to see if you have some kind of a virus or a vitamin and mineral problem.
In the mean time, you can take motillium to get the nausea to go away.. It takes about half an hour to work but its very efficient.

You do not say if you are sleeping alright, just that you are tired. I ask because the times I have been really exhausted through lack of sleep (two prolonged period of bad insomnia and twice with new babies in the first year when still up feeding babies at night) I felt nauseous, was occasionally sick, dizzy and also passed out. Fixing the sleep problems (easier said than done) fixed the other symptoms.
I wish you well.

suggest checking your blood sugar - don't waste time with the little strips - ask your doctor for a HbA1c test which shows an 'average' over 3 months - much more meaningful

Christmas/New Year holiday hangover. Too much excessing of rich, fatty and sugary foods, plus alcohol. Speaking personally only (but others feel free to stick your hand up too) - lack of meaningful exercise since.
This probably results in too many toxins (or remnants of) remaining in the system, causing said symptoms.
Couple this with all the weird and wonderful virus's that are always prevalent at this time, and it's no wonder you get the urge to call God on the big, white telephone.
I had some viral infection that effected my inner ear, therefore completely knobbling my sense of balance - everytime I even tried to sit, let alone stand, the whole world span so violently, it was reminiscent of that drunken state just before pass-out. Resulted in 5 days in bed, with the occasional stagger to the smallest room only.

You might want to get checked out for Lyme disease, a tick-borne infection (you might have been bitten by a tick and never even noticed) that is characterised by chronic fatigue (and other symptoms).
If left undiagnosed, it can get quite nasty.

If I were you, I'd go to the doctor. I was having similar problems and kept putting off going to the doctor because the symptoms were so vague, but it turns out there was a concrete reason. In my case it was B12 (I had almost none in my system). It would be a good idea to have the doctor run the standard tests (B12, iron, thyroid etc) to see if there is something wrong. It is good to rule out things that can be checked easily.
It could also just be a touch of the flu, the lack of light, allergies or other food/medicine intolerances. The list of possibilities is pretty long but regardless, it simply sucks to constantly feel tired, run down and nauseous. Life's too short.
Hope you start feeling better soon!

You do have to be super careful with Iron though.
It is easy to take too much and it can really damage your organs. Also, if you want to check everything is ok with your iron and you have been taking it then get a blood test, I am not sure that the results will be very accurate.

About the nausea: ginger is great. A lot of people I know who sail suck on raw ginger to help with seasickness. Then there is ginger tea and ginger ale and ginger candy.

Be careful this that thing. It can be also an illness.

Get a maybe-baby test anyway at the pharmacy.
Some women have been known to be well on their way to becoming mamas and still had a light period in the beginning of the pregnancy. | Quote: | | | | | Hey all,

Go see your doctor, get blood test to see Iron, sugar, etc. It could be the weather, cold, flu, etc...

Am I right in therefore thinking the poster is either a women who A). has had a hysterectomy, or .B) is post menapausal or C) is a Man? In which case the "maybe-baby test" won't solve the problem. But I would like to see a male customer ask a pharmacist for instructions on how he is to do the test. |
