no not one school, a few within my immediate area.

i'm hoping my expirence is a one off or in the minority as its now gone to an even lower level now where the done thing it to spit at each other.
Ok, that's not bad schools, it's bad parenting. And the teachers are completely exasperated because parents expect them to do their job for them. Teachers are there to teach a curriculum, not to bring up kids from scratch and especially not to bring up twenty plus children from scratch. Seriously.

^^^^spot on... there is definitely this idea of letting our kids learn limits, rules and manners in school (at least in the younger grades) moreso than bad teaching, although that can exist too.

Yes certainly agree with the parenting being an issue. Unfortunately it's creeping into the school playground.

I think it defo is both, or I have seen both here. Parents who expect kids "get educated" at school only and teachers who don't want to do the disciplining dirty job either and are concerned only with the academical program.

It needs to be both. Parents who think learning is not only for school and teachers who realize we have a lot of room for cooperating with parents on discipline, rules and manners.

Re: Rate your Childs state Swiss school using the below poll below

The problem is that parents expect teachers to take on parents' responsibility but don't give them parents' rights. So when a parent does discipline a kid by, e.g. making them stay back on a Wednesday afternoon to clean the desks they messed up, then the parents complain to the teacher because their precious is missing tennis or whatever. I probably said this before but one parent brought in a lawyer because they reckoned that their son had been unfairly told off - he was actually being a right pain. How are the teachers meant to gauge which children they can be strict with as the parents want them to and which they better just leave alone?
