Re: Babysitter in Bern - recommendations?
We got our first babysitter by putting up a notice at the Gemeinde offices. We stipulated that they must have done the Red Cross babysitters course. It worked well and we had a few people to choose from. None of them spoke English and at the time my son did not speak German but it did not seem to matter! What was nice was that the girls (and one boy) who applied were local and we met their parents too, and we knew when the girl we chose was sitting, that her mother was a few streets away if anything went drastically wrong, which, it didn't.
