Zurich Breast Cancer Center - Comments / Recommendations ???

Hello,

I have a friend who has very serious breast cancer and is considering surgery at the Zurich Breast Center in Seefeld.

Does anyone have an experience / comments / observations to offer?

Feel free to PM me if you would like to offer some thoughts privately.

Thanks for any support.

Re: Zurich Breast Cancer Center - Comments / Recommendations ???

Hi I am new to the site as I am new to Zurich (arrive on 2nd August 2011) This is my first post on the forum and I hope this is how one goes about it!
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in February while living in New York. I underwent my surgery etc there and now I need an oncologist/specialist for my follow ups. I have seen the Zurich Breast Center mentioned here can anyone give me some advice/recommendations as to where I should start i.e. do I need a GP first?
Thanking you in advance

Hello Smurf, I think the quickest wway to go about it, is to make an appointment with your GP and take all your medical files (if you have them) and probably a reference from your doctor in NY, GP will sort things out

I do not know if anyone can recommend but here is what I did, call your insurance company and ask them to give you a list of GPs in you area, you can choose the one that is closer or is mroe convenient for you, that is what I did and I am rpetty happy with my GP actually. If for any reason you are not happy then you can change GPs no problem (I could be wrong)

Hi Smurf

Welcome to Switzerland! I was diagnosed last December and have just started my rads. All my care is in Bern, so I don't know a lot about Zurich, but I just sent you a Private Message (PM).
