| You can't have a non-EU Au-Pair since you work 100% since they require the special Au-Pair visa. If you hire an EU national I beleive you can get around this rule. But then again do you really want someone who has no experience looking after your kids when they are so young? Of course you may get lucky and be able to hire on older, experienced person on an Au-Pair salary. | |

actually all I want is to be able to bring my own new nanny (I just found someone) - BUT she is from NZ (a very close family friend, my husband knows her from when she was 10! and she is a qualified nanny too, in her twenties - just perfect) - she just arrived in the UK (yesterday) on a working visa I loved her and I do trust her...
I theory I would love her to come with us on a Kurzaufenthaltsbewilligung (i think it's the L-permit?) issued just for a year and just to work for us, but because she hasn't been working for us here long enough I am not hopeful...
