| LOL, all the nonsense on this post. I just had a second interview with a Euro company in Zug today. They want to hire me and will apply for a one year B visa.
Now according to the posters here:
1) no one will talk to me because:
1) I'm American
2) Don't have special job skills
3) Don't speak fluent German.
I've been here for 82 days exactly, and found a job in Switzerland (and two in Germany, both of which I turned down).
I realize this does not mean Zug will approve the visa, but the company is going to try it.
So let me go over this for those who wish to do what I did, so the negative naysayers don't kill their aspirations, in another thread. My Experience Getting Hired in CH (NonEU) | |

I had a meeting with someone in HR today and we got to talking about Americans and work visas. He told me how difficult it was to get a work visa for an American, including showing interview notes for all applicants and told me he expected it could take months so most companies won't even try.
As for Germany, they are short over 100,000 technical people, so they will hire anyone. Also, the EU doesn't have the stringent visa rules that the Swiss do. There is an allotment of visas for non-EU for the entire country, and they prefer to give these to major companies, such as Google.
