Nanny looking to arrange some playdates.

Hi,

I am a 24 year old nanny looking after two girls in Pully, near Lausanne, aged nearly 1 year old and 2 and a half years old. I am looking for other nannies/young mums in the area who have children of a similar age and are interested in arranging a few playdates.

If anyone is interested let me know, especially as the weather is getting warmer it is so much easier to go outside without putting on layers and layers of clothing!

Thanks,

Sam

Re: Nanny looking to arrange some playdates.

Can't think how this found its way into Introductions, which is usually the place for new members to introduce themselves. All the other playdate posts are in this Forum, or, if they are set up, under Social Events. Hope you find some other interested parties.

Re: Nanny looking to arrange some playdates.

Social events isn't exactly what I was looking for, after browsing the social events page it doesn't seem to fit in with what I am after... but thank you for your suggestion and for moving it into family matters. I didn't think placing it in Introductions was wrong actually, but there you go.

Re: Nanny looking to arrange some playdates.

If Efers plan a meet up with a RSVP list, it is referred to as a social event. It's a good way of checking who plans to come and means that new members don't feel pushy by putting their names on a list when others seem to know each other already.

The problem with posting in Introductions, apart from the fact that you are not introducing yourself, is that not everyone who might be interested in a playdate reads this part of the Forum. New Threads slip off the front page very, very soon. Pity if the folk whom you are seeking missed your post.

Re: Nanny looking to arrange some playdates.

Hi, I am unable to attend playdates with you as I live in Zurich. However you may wish to check out if a "Meet up" group for arranging such playdates exists near you. For example, there is a Zurich Moms Meet up Group, a very active group with lots going on in terms of playdates. If there is not an active group near you, there are bound to many in the same position as you and perhaps you could create a Meet up group of your own via www.meetup.com (as far as I know it is free, but not sure) for Nannys and Mums in your area with small children, dedicated to making your own play opportunities. The one in Zurich have all sorts going on Boogie afternoons, arts, crafts etc. Good Luck.

Re: Nanny looking to arrange some playdates.

Here we go I found something. http://www.meetup.com/GenevaMTB/

I know it says Mums but I am sure you can join in. If not you can make such a group for nannies. It's a great idea.
