mom new to Basel

Hi, I am new to this forum and may be moving to Basel in the next few months. I am a stay at home mom to a 2 year old girl. Are there any "mommy meet up" groups in Basel? what is the best way to meet other moms?
thanks,
jennifer

Make sure you check out the events with the BCT (Basel Childbirth Trust) as they have lots of groups for mums, from working to regular playgroups. Through the regular playgroup goers you;ll find out about the other places they frequent to keep the little ones amused!

Welcome to Basel

Hi, also new to the forum and am moving to Basel in the next few months from the UK. I have a 3yr old boy and 1yr old girl so also interested in finding out about activities for children and meeting up with other stay at home mums. Glad I'm not alone! Let me know how you get on or if you would be interested in meeting up. Good luck!
Sharon

Hi Sharon, still not sure if we're moving to Basel or not but if we do it will be in late spring. I will keep you posted. where in Basel do you plan to live? We haven't sorted that out yet ourselves.

Re: mom new to Basel

Welcome to Basel! My wife is a coordinator for Riehen, Basel in the BCT (Basel Childrens trust) and organizes events for Mommies and Children. We have a 2 year old little girl too.

I'm sure you folks will make a few friends fast as Basel is full of friendly people.

Send me a PM if you would like me to introduce you to my wife for some support and questions.

Re: mom new to Basel

Basel is a great place to be an at-home mum with little ones, the BCT is a great place to find local English speaking playgroups and coffee mornings. There is also Gymboree, Open Door which has playgroups and more structured classes for children. Centerpoint in the city is a nice meeting point for English speakers and has a great library.
Basel is a super place, especially now since the sun is shining! There are lots of lovely parks, the zoo, outdoor swimming pools in the summer and lovely places to meet. There are a LOT Of stay at home parents in the city so,, although it seems a bit daunting and scary at first, it doesn't take long to find some friends.
Good luck with the moves.
