Re: Preschool Books.

we have discovered the 'book depository' - www.bookdepository.co.uk

Free delivery and they send each book single by ordinary post so that you don't get caught with tax...

I also discovered www.betterworldbooks.com but I am not sure if they will come through with tax. If they post them via DHL or Fedex I will be most annoyed...because there's a nasty handling fee...

You can also try the english section of www.amazon.de The german site usually is cheaper with lower shipping costs than www.amazon.co.uk

Re: Preschool Books.

Oh, and more locally, Orrell Fussli has an english bookstore in the middle of Zurich, and sometimes has a small selection of english language books in their normal chain stores.

There is a large book shop at Sihlcity shopping centre in zurich, and they might also have a small range of english language books (I got a really nice kids cookbook there)...

And the Anglican church in Zurich has a book sale twice a year - once in the church hall and one at their Annual bazaar near Enge. I usually try to post the information on the forum when the dates are announced...

You can also try the second hand shops - I only know the ones in Zurich -
www.Tigel.ch - they usually have a small selection...

Re: Preschool Books.

Yes, Book Depository excellent, but note that these are English rather than American editions (guessing from spelling of 'colors') which might matter if you're doing early reading.

Re: Preschool Books.

I just ordered a big bunch of stuff for my daughter to start teaching her English and Maths ( the school is doing an excellent job on her French and I just want to supplement her maths as I am a specialist ).

I got in touch with OUP and they gave me a list of recommendations petaining to what I wanted to do.

Hi, I have just ordered a load of Letterland books which have been fantastic at helping my son with recognition of letters ect, his teacher at school has recommended them (its what they use) he doesnt have a long attention span but these just seem to capture his attention, just thought i'd mention it!

They are also available from the book dispensary and play.com which offer free delivery to ch.
