Decent bra fitting service in Basel?

Hi, does anyone know a decent place to get properly measured for a bra in Basel? I tried the Manor but I could of done a better job myself!

Content of a bra..what can't they do !

Now regarding thread, is there no lingerie shop that can help you with this? afteral its their job..

If i want my car fine-tuned, i'm not going to go and ask the local petrolstation todo so, i will ask a place that specialise in it.. a garage

So for all your bra's/ measuring needs ,please consult :

http://www.perosa.ch/

or

Wilhelm Lingerie,Basel

Hope it helps, your bra can thank me later

Re: bra measuring

You could try one of the specialist lingerie places like Wilhelm Lingerie on Gerbergasse (between Safran Zunft and the Post Office) or Beldona on Freiestrasse.

Re: bra measuring

If you want more helpful measurements than "fried eggs", "a cupful", a handful" or "big jugs" then may I suggest avoiding the offers from EF members and trying your local Beldonna (It's on Freiestrasse in Basel). Also the La Senza department in Manor used to be pretty good although it sounds like you might have gone there

Forget the measuring thing!

Getting them weighed is far better.

Let me feel.

Way haaaayyyyyy

...and it only took 5 minutes for those comments to surface! pervs

OP, cant help you regarding where exactly in Basel but Beldona definitely will be a good place to start! Also, lingerie sections in Globus? Mimi mentioned that there is a La Senza section in Basel, try it. I got measured by them (in a different country).

Re: bra measuring

If you don't know someone, and they ask an honest question, it's incredibly rude, not to mention immature, to subject them to a barrage of abuse that claims to be humourous. I just wanted some honest answers from people who don't react to breasts like a bunch of teenagers. You all make me feel really sick.

You did get a few helpful responses from some of us.

Ignore the pre-pubescent boys on here....it's only harmless fun and not aimed at you. It's a damn sight better than some of the crap that's being spouted on EF at the moment.

That bloody full moon.......

Re: bra measuring

sorry for being offtopic, boys, but if OP still wants to know how to get measured (and suspects she might be D cup or larger) in Basel then I would suggest a plane ticket to London, Bravissimo shop. They're brilliant and will not try to convince you that you are whatever size they happen to have in stock (stay away from M&S fitting services).

if this is not possible, this is a very good site and gives better advice than most "professional" services.

ok back to jokes now..

OP, if you do go to London as suggested by @Ullainga, then there's also the well known Rigby & Peller to check out as well. The help and service I received at their Knightsbridge store was absolutely first rate.

73 posts deleted . Well done to those who turn a member off the Forum by hijacking and mocking her reasonable thread.

EF is not a chat facility nor a sandpit. Please save oh so funny witticisms for appropriate threads, and if possible make them at least fresh. The OP asked nicely, then felt the need to respond when clearly unhappy with the quality of posts, yet many felt the pressing need to continue.

Stay on topic, please. Way too much noise.

Re: bra measuring

You can do it yourself. Get two measuring tapes, one in inches and one in cm.
Use the inch tape measure around just below the bust, that will give the indication of the width size to order/try (36, 38 etc)
Do the same exactly the same with the cm tape measure (80, 85 etc)

If you know your cup size, add the inch figure to get the UK/US sizes, for instance: 36C and add the cm figure to get the Swiss/German sizes, for instance 80C

For the cup size, you really should try on the lingerie first. Do not buy any bra where the whalebone (wire now of course ) actually rests on the breast tissue (bad for the delicate tissue). The whalebone should be really on the side closer to the under arm.

Watch out if the bra gapes a little underneath the breast. It's too big try a smaller width.

Even if tempted by a pretty bra, if you are, for instance a 36C, do not trade in for a 38B. Stick to right cup size for correct support.

and the very very best place to get beautiful lingerie that actually does the job correctly (comfortable support that doesn't like grandma's stuff) is in the UK.... If you happen to be well endowed be prepared to dish out between 80 to 150 Sfr for a good bra versus 20 to 30 £ in the UK.

Re: Decent bra fitting service in Basel?

I just wanted to add, the lingerie department at Pfauen also does bra fitting (in addition to those already mentioned) and I was measured at Nina Dessous a few years ago. I have to say though that the selection at both shops was a bit dismal for someone my size (105E), mostly "granny" lace and scratchy.

Meanwhile, I was at Beldonna with Angela-74 and while their selection also was not substantial, they did at least have a few pretty ones in my size. (And lots of pretty things in smaller sizes.)
