I just found out that little one really LOVES helium filled ballons. And it's quite calming and soothing because it moves so slowly. Not to speak about the color.

We bought ours at Ballon Express in Zurich. If the gas flattens, they fill it up for free.

Medium sized shiny version stays ok the longest.

As new parents sometimes the unexpected provides the most help, so I thought of sharing the idea as we have many soon to be mummies.

I would never think such thing will have a great effect, but there you go. I think parents patience to look for new solutions is never to be underestimated.

I would go with a baby massage for the calming and relaxing effects.

For ours it was anything with a humming white noise (hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, microwave, fan over the stove, anything). It would mesmerise him and he'd drift off to sleep (or at least calm down).

Bouncing gently on a big ball like this...

This little creation got my baby through many a night (oh so long ago )
It turns with the music and lights up the ceiling. He'd stare, giggle and fall asleep

a good routine with calming events - bath, singing songs, final feed.

For all of mine it was breastfeeding. Super simple. I got to sleep and so did they.
