Appreciate the websites warning me to bring tonnes of tissues out with me!

I normally have a miserable April/May, but actually not been so bad this year, despite a tap-like nose for a few days. Maybe I'm gradually getting desensitized.

In Bern yesterday it was like 'death by pollen'. I left the window open for a few hours and there was a layer of of the yellow stuff everywhere. Never seen it that bad before. Anyone else notice?

I really appreciate the pollen level forecast map on this site, but it's pretty fraggin difficult to see where anything is. I would have thought a few major landmarks wouldn't go astray. Otherwise it's just a orange, red, yellow fractal with black lines that may or may not be borders..... |

PS - I always recommend start dosing with the antihistamines beginning of May. If the Easter forcast is anything to go by, I'd start next week or two - I am. Good luck this season. |

There’s a great app for iPhone or Android called Pollen-News. https://www.aha.ch/centre-allergie-s...SAAEgKaaPD_BwE | This user would like to thank Belgianmum for this useful post: | |

Installed because my son started getting annual allergies, and I wanted to pin point the culprit (I did, it's birch trees... Good I don't live in Finland anymore...).

Maybe I'm speaking too soon, but my hayfever is yet to kick in, despite birch pollen (I believe to be the prime suspect) being high to very high at the moment. I'm either a) very lucky (see above), b) becoming de-sensitised, or c) it was never birch in the first place.
Anyone else?

Anyone else? | | | | | Don't know if this is the case in your area, but we have had either showers or snow every second day. So even though birch trees are trying to shed their sexuality onto our faces, the pollen gets quickly deposited on the ground. That's been helping the family members.

Birch is still "high" according to Bern and Neuchatel monitoring.

Oops! Should have read further before replying. | Quote: | | | | | We've been having quite a dry spell recently, apart from yesterday, but that was our first rain for over a week. I’ve never suffered from allergies before but last year and now this year I have had very itchy eyes at this time of year which I am attributing to the birch pollen.

Just wanted to acknowledge that the pollen website referred to in the old posts on this thread, is still working and that the first grass pollen of the season is expected in the next few days.
