Does anyone know good english speaking pediatrician in Lausanne? I have a one year old son, and we just moved to Lausanne.

My second question : where can i take my one year old son for a new hairdo? is there any kids hair salon around lausanne or in lausanne?

Finding a pediatrician in Lausanne is a bit of a nightmare, as almost none of them accept new patients, or patients that are not new-born.

My advice would be to call as many as you can, until you find one that will take you. Doctors usually speak at least average English, but the receptionist might be a problem.

As for hairdressers, it's highly uncommon to find one only for kids (never heard of it anyway). You simply go to a 'normal' hair salon, and they cope with your child as you can. I would suggest avoiding the very expensive stylists, they might not want to bother with a child. With my son, I go to the Salon in Bel Air: they have a box of toys for kids, and do quite a nice job. A haircut for a kid is 20.- there.

Well I know a good pediatrician in Prilly (1008) 5mins from middle of city Lausanne. He is Swiss however speaks fluent english and is really great. His name is Dr Hervé Vienny.

When I first arrived here in Switzerland when I was 15 and didn't speak a work of french he was me and my younger sister's pediatrician (she was years 4 years old at the time). He really help me during a really tough time in my life and I can honestly say is one of the nicest Doctors I have known . He always made time for me and my sister when we needed to see him even if the secretary said that it's full, she isn't always nice but remember your not seeing her. He will always make space for emergencies not matter what, however you will have to wait. He is very popular!

I am now 26 my younger sister 15 and have an adult Doctor who is amazing too thanks to Dr Vienny, but I still see him from time to time to see hi and cause he is my younger sister doctor still.

Also I am a Early Childhood Specialist now so for me I understand the worries mothers have when it comes to choosing good Doctors and have no problem recommending him
