Pregnant, moving to Bern. Any other bumps in Bern?

Hi there,
I'm moving to Bern at the end of May with our first baby due mid-August.
I don't speak a lick of German (yet) and would love to be able to talk with other women about all things baby.
Send a message if you want to chat!

Welcome to the Forum Tara, Bern is a lovely city.

When you first arrive here try and make contact with St Ursula's English speaking church.
It will be a good start to meet new people. There are many long term residents there, from all walks of life.

You might want to visit the US Embassy for information about

St. Ursala's weekly moms and tots group is a great place to meet moms and soon to be moms. I know more than one woman who started going while they were pregnant with their first child. There is a nominal fee of 5 fr. to cover costs.

Another great resource: Expat-Moms-In-Switzerland Yahoo group.

There are many expat moms in Bern and everyone has been very welcoming. We moved to Bern two years ago when I was pregnant with our second child.
