Re: Help ASAP !!!

Contact your local commune as they often have venues available for hire.

Re: Help ASAP !!!

each Gemeinde has a function room that you can rent for a very small amount of money. For example, in Seefeld it costs CHF 60 for the whole day with a kitchen. You can make as much noise as you want (within the normal boundaries of Swiss tolerance).

Seems we've got two threads going on the same subject. Where are those mods? They can't possibly have lives away from EF!

Poor planning on your part does not constitute a crisis on mine.
A year is not enough time to plan?

Re: Help ASAP !!!

Check out www.babygym.ch, they do all types of birthday parties. Although more for smaller kids, they can do all type of birthday themes, my daughter attended a dance birthday party for 9 year olds recently in the Vich Baby gym site. Equipped with music, sparkly lights, and disco type atmosphere.

If you want to organise yourself, contact your commune or local school to rent the room or sports facilities. Just make sure of any 'noise' restrictions. Then find a DJ or do it yourself.

Re: Help ASAP !!!

Your home would be too small? You wouldn't have a stereo and some cds?

Does it have to be a full laser-show-disco event? Why don't you ask your daughter what she thinks? Maybe she has a friend who could be the DJ?

Back then when I was a teenager (must have been in the last millenium) we would organise our own parties. Everybody would bring along cds and my mom would make some finger food and non-alcoholic cocktails.

Where are you. Trampolino in Dietikon is a huge hit with kids...just a little crazy but you can have birthday parties there.

You could ask a local restaurant or guest house to host it. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to if you get them to cater it as well.

There are also huts in the woods in some areas. Your community office should help you there

I have no idea about costs, but I imagine in such an emergency, money is no object

Otherwise, tell your darling daughter she can invite X number of friends and have a girlie pamper night at home making pizza, doing manicures, pedicures, etc, watching chick-flicks, and eating chocolate/popcorn. The possibilities are endless and youtube has great vids with tutorials on cute nail polish styles etc. It doesn't have to be expensive or noisy either.
