Re: your favourite brand for pram stroller and car seat

With respect to Car seats, TCS do their annual child seat testing.
You can find the results here:

Hope it helps.

Probably more so than Chicco but less so than bugaboo.

Re: your favourite brand for pram stroller and car seat

Odd thread to be posting BUT:

2 friends of mine have gotten the Orbit G2 system. (there is a long story involving Tijuana, an airport, a box, this Thing and me)
Seems pretty cool and practical. a bit on the expensive side though.

Might be worth looking into.

Re: your favourite brand for pram stroller and car seat

Not when you buy them at a sale, as we managed to do. We payed only 399 for the baby bassinet, sport seat and a "rain coat" as well as a parasol.

Before buying I would definitely look for a sale, even at online shops, otherwise they are really expensive.

I have a stokke and can't recommend it enough! It is expensive but worth every penny! I really love it and so does my son. It is a great pushchair from babyhood and wriggly toddlers!

Re: your favourite brand for pram stroller and car seat

Just picked up a Maclaren Quest light weight buggy when i was back in the UK and I love it - feels like I am pushing a feather, folds up easily and my son sleeps in it like a dream! in fact he seems to fall asleep a minute after plonking him in it - it was only supposed to be for travel and trips to town but I can see me using this more than my main buggy

Re: your favourite brand for pram stroller and car seat

I don't like 3 wheelers at all as I find them pretty unstable when taking a sharp curve or slaloming between people in town.

For me the best stroller is a bugaboo. They are light, wonderfully easy to fold, fit in any car boot.

The maxicosy car seat is excellent, and you can buy contraptions to adapt it to your bugaboo chassis.

My sister in law has the chicco trio, and I find it big and heavy, difficult to manipulate and on the cheap side as far as quality is concerned.

The quinny is nice but huge, so very impractical if you consider using public transport.

Re: your favourite brand for pram stroller and car seat

Another vote for the McClaren Techno XT.

I especially recommend this stroller if you live in the city and you use public transportation a lot. Getting in and out of the older trams, buses and trains can be a nightmare, so trust me, you will want something light.

Every time I see one of these mammoth jogging strollers (Bug a Boo included) painfully squeeze its way onto the back door of an old tram, I just cringe. Don't put yourself through that torture. They look pretty, but for practicality, forget it.

The McClaren Techno XT is one of the lightest, if not the lightest stroller on the market, without sacrificing quality and sturdiness. It fits in crowded trams, folds up easily into the back of a car trunk, and even reclines flat (for the earlier baby years). Also great as a travel stroller.

What mamazurich said. It was also one of not very many prams that would come with a bassinet and still fit our very small lift.

Two caveats though:
- the bassinet was clearly an afterthought and is a pain to adjust correctly.
- the cradle seat (which in itself we like) does not have an ISOFIX, and attaches to the buggy using two special attachments. These are really hard to remove, and when they're on, you can only use the pram with the car seat.

Re: your favourite brand for pram stroller and car seat

bugaboos are great as a buggy but when the bassinet is on you can't get in the basket underneath
