Mannedorf Hospital - any comments on maternity

I just wondered whether anyone had any good/bad/indifferent reports on having a baby at Mannedorf Hospital? Has it got a Spcial care Baby Unit, or what happens if baby needs extra support/comes early - would it be sent to Universpital or somewhere?
Is it the case that all rooms have maximuum occupancy of 2 mothers and newborns?
Any advice on specific obstetricians who work there?
Is it usual that you stay in for 5-7 days with the first baby?

Thanks! x

Re: Mannedorf Hospital - any comments on maternity

I would advise that you take part at an information evening at the hospital. All questions concerning rooms, transfer to Uni hospital etc. should be answered there. Here's the link http://www.spitalmaennedorf.ch/xml_1.../d926/f996.cfm.
Normally, you can have a guided tour through the maternity unit afterwards and make up your mind yourself.

Usually, the maximum stay is 4-5 days including the day of giving birth. If you're about to give birth 2012 they'll probably send you home earlier because of a change in the financial system. If you are having a cesarean or had a long birth you might stay longer than 4/5 days. Make sure to organise a midwife who takes care of you at home after birth www.hebamme.ch. Additionally you can look for an english speaking doula, she'll answer many of your questions, too www.doula.ch
