Looking for English lessons for kids

My two children are 7 years old and are enrolled in the local French-speaking school in the Lausanne area. They speak both English and French fluently but only receive lessons in reading and writing in French. I am currently looking for a school which could offer English reading and writing classes outside of normal school hours for bilingual children. I would really appreciate if somebody could help me with this.

Re: Looking for English lessons for kids

I would suggest some language schools that have classes specifically for children. In Geneve I would suggest Bell School, as they have a very good program for this, but not sure about Lausanne. Perhaps check yellow pages for language schools and see which ones have programs for children. You could also go the private tutor way as well.

Re: Looking for English lessons for kids

Yeah , true that.

LS area is still pretty big, though, I have kids who take 1hr 20 min to come to school and they are in the area. Here is a nice blog with some interesting info. I, personally, would hire a tutor, more efficient, but on the other hand a class of kids make good friends.

Re: Looking for English lessons for kids

EduKids in St Sulpice just outside Lausanne (http://www.edukids.ch/) offers English reading and writing classes for English speakers.

I used to work there, but the staff have changed since then so I have no idea about the format of the classes, number of pupils or if they have places...

But I thought I'd mention it!

Perhaps you could start a children's reading group yourself.
My daughter did this and it was a great success.
Too much cake eating, and occasional fisticuffs, but everyone had fun.
