| | Is La Cote moving?
I think I read somewhere that La Cote will be moving to Aubonne in September 2012? Does anyone know if this is accurate?
Thanks

Isn't that something of a geographical impossibility? | This user would like to thank for this useful post:

I wish I could help you but I have no idea what you are talking about unless you are thinking of an earthquake. Some more clues might help! |

Looking back over the OP's posts, I see she has mentioned a school by the name of La Cote. That must be what she is talking about.
To the OP: La Côte is a geographical term, referring to the Swiss coast of Lake Geneva/Lac Leman - that's why we got confused. | The following 7 users would like to thank for this useful post:

Guessing you're talking about the local paper La Cote? No idea about it moving, would seem strange for it to leave Nyon for those auslanders in Aubonne though...
-Ah- DB is a minute faster, and also beat me to posting. Must be the school.

Isn't that something of a geographical impossibility? | | | | | Um, yeah, I would have though that Aubonne was in La Cote.
At least it was the two years I lived right next door in St. Prex. |

I've been looking online and can only find one reference to the school moving and that is on an ad for a house someone is trying to rent in Aubonne.
I'm guessing the family kids go there and they have inside information. You could call the people renting the house and ask them. Maybe even go visit the house. It's looks really pretty. |

Yes, and it is also the name of the popular local paper, La Cote, which I thought she was also referring. The main publishing office did move to the other side of Nyon about 2 years ago.
Now that it has been clarified that it is the school, yes, I have heard the same information from others in the area. They started in Mont-sur-Rolle about 2 years ago in container housing. Last year they moved to Vich, en Clarens, as the old school buildings there were vacated by the previous school, and it was much better facilities than the containers. As they were started up with the help/support of the companies in Rolle, it was always the idea to have permanent established there, next to the office park. However, some were postive for this, others against this location. Like a lot of private schools in the la cote area, they have been looking for a permanent location for some time. I understand they have found something and will be permantenly locating to Aubonne, but not sure if for school year Sept. '11 or '12.

Yeah, and the fact that we now get the "Geneve" version of 20 minutes in Nyon instead of the "Lausanne" version , they keep trying to push them closer togehter, if not physically, then figmently.

The school has been looking for new grounds, though has not secured anything at present. I can't imagine they'll find somewhere, get permission and build by '12. Their current buildings are still very make shift, and shared with a garage/mechanic type operation. They are planning to move due to it being a growing school, but it's a long term plan.

Yes, La Côte International School is moving its campus to Aubonne, but in September 2014. More information can be found on their website at: http://hkg.international-school.org/...acilities.html |

I don't really understand your question . The whole coastal area of Lake Geneva from Mies till Morges is called La Côte and Aubonne is part of it (District of Rolle).
P.S: Okay, after reading carefully the rest of the thread I realized you are talking about a school. Never heard of this school...

The school has moved from Vich to Aubonne in August 2014 into a new purpose-built building

Thanks for clarifying that The building certainly looks impressive from the outside.
