Confignon

Hi,
Anyone familiar with the area of Confignon ? I am considering moving to Confignon and would like to know if anyone has any personal experience with the local schools and neighborhood in general.
I did a quick search and came up with 2 very old posts (2008).
Thank you in advance.

Re: Confignon

It's a lovely place. If you've got something there, go for it.

I lived in Bernex for more than 30 years and Confignon was also part of my "country".....

Re: Confignon

Thank-you for the advice Bertrand. Luckily I found a place that will be close to the new tram line that will run from Gare Cornavin to Bernex. I am hoping Confignon will be a taste of suburbia with the comforts of being only 20 minutes from city center Geneva.
I did not understand monkeynut's reply, but thanx anyway.

Re: Confignon

Excellent.

I'm sure you will love the place. And it's full of nice places to walk, there's some nice restaurants around and if you like horses, have a look to the Ranch in SÚzenove (that's the village where I lived) and if you want cats or dogs you've got a shelter just outside Bernex.

the tunnel is the one from the Highway.... you can see it if you go down to the small river for a walk. But it's not an annoyance.

Re: Confignon

After living in Confignon for almost a year, I have to say it is a lovely place for families. It seems to be a well kept secret of Geneva.
Confignon combines all the comforts of suburban living with convenience of city life. My children ride their scooters to school in safety. The primary school is surrounded by vineyards. The primary and secondary school have a very active parents association. Many English speaking children attend the local primary school. Tram 14 gets you to the city within 20 minutes and Balexert in 30 minutes.
All in all my experience in Confignon has been very pleasant. I hope this helps other families moving to Geneva
