Hello
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a nice, gentle, English speaking Dentist in the Morges/Lausanne area for my 3.5 year old Son?
Many thanks

There is a fantastic dentist in Gland at the Cabinet Dentaire. She is really good with kids and was wonderful with my 5 year old daughter. http://www.dentiste-gland.ch/ |

do you have the name of the dentist you mentioned in that cabinet please? (I guess it's more than one there). I want to make sure we see the one you recommend. Also, is she specialize in 'kids' only or adult is OK too?
thanks a lot

I go here in Morges: http://www.ardentis.ch/clinique-ardentis-morges-an.php and see a Dr Barthelemy; we talk in French but he and hubby speak in English, so he must know enough to be able to work.
He does kids and adults, and is super good with my daughter, who had a big drill phobia when younger. He was the first dentist who was able to work on her without resorting to a general anaesthetic at CHUV. He's very patient, explains what's going to happen at each stage, and makes sure that kids have hand signals for 'stop' and so on, so they feel in control of what's going on.
I find him a great adult dentist, too - very thorough and erring towards conservatism, and he's up to date on modern techniques (he's around early 30s). For example, when I had a root canal that needed re-doing and capping off, other dentists were advising the standard crown topping, whereas he fixed it with an onlay. Same cost, same lifespan, but this way I kept much more of my tooth, don't have any gum irritation issues and can always have a crown in 10-20 years if necessary.

thanks a lot | | | | | I would also second this recommendation for this dentistry office. The dentist, and owner, Ms. Schultess, is the one to ask for, she is excellent and very good with children. She studied or worked at a university in Pennsylvania, and her english is good.

OK. Here's my little 'contribution' to those sharing the recommendations with me.
I finally visited this dentist in Gland (Ms.Schultess) 2 weeks ago. The final choice is made after I visited the website (actually the site is very comprehensive and gives me a lot of information especially the qualification of the dentist and thus more confidence).
Ms. Schultess is very professional, speaking fluent English and provided a very detailed explanation to my teeth problem. I am glad that I took such a long trip (40 mins drive) to there.....

On the subject of kids' dentristry, does anyone know if you can buy those disclosing tablets in Switzerland? I mean the red tablets which stain kids' teeth with a vegetable dye to show up the plaque?
