Integration classes

I am writing a book for expatriates about local Swiss schools. I was wondering what experience people have had with the integration classes, where your child is not allocated immediately to a regular class, but is in a special class with other incoming children in order to learn the school language.

How long did it take your child to learn the language and get moved to a regular class? Where was that?

You can send your answer as a pm if you prefer.
