CT/MRI Scan

Hi Guys

Can anyone suggest where in Zurich to get a CT scan and how much it costs here? I heard there a few near stadlehofen but have no details or who or where?

If anyone knows give me a shout

Thanks

Re: CT/MRI Scan

Normally you don't decide yourself that you need a CT scan the procedure is to go to your GP, who will then refer you to the adequate place. Your basic insurance will pay the costs.

Re: CT/MRI Scan

I have been in the UK and referred by my UK GP therefore rather than forking out the extra money to have a another GP appointment here to tell me the same again I was hoping just to go to them with my UK referral.

I'm not sure if it will work how you are planning, but this place does CT and MRI and is very central. I have had several here but always been referred by a specialist. Good luck.

Yes, but then who will interpret your scan? Your UK GP? Typically, they only do the scans here, and don't tell you the result personally. They write a report to your GP, who then explains it to you.

They are always very noncomital after your scan, as they want the boss to have a proper look after you're gone in case they missed something.

I think I'm the MRI King of Switzerland...... I've had quite a few of these things.

OK, so
a) You must go to a doctor for a referral
You can't just decide to go yourself, and the cost is hideous, so you have to ensure you have your insurance up to date.
Different MRI places are preferred by different GP's depending on what the problem is you have. There are a number of venues for these things, either Stadelhoffen, Paradaplatz, or Balgrist, but best you let your GP decide on where you should go.
As for the cost, this again will depend on your insurance. Some accident covers will pay for all, but if it's an 'illness' you will still have a deductible that you are first liable for...... each insurance cover will be different so your overall cost will depend on what cover you have.

b) there is no option b.
