My daughter is now 6 weeks old and I need childcare for when I return to work October 31st. I work 5 hours per day, 5 days in central Basel. Have been to early learning but dont know of any others. can anyone recommend a good day care for her? I read that the maximum should be 2000 chf per month full time but early learning is 2350, which outweighs the options for me returning to work. I can see threads for Zurich but not basel... dont know where to start and Ive now read that waiting lists are the norm even though the costs are extortionate!! should I be paying 100chf to just be added on a waiting list? any assistance would be appreciated, Thanks Julie

I have just placed my daughter at Home from Home but I am not sure if they have any vacancies... I've heard good things about kita little foot at St Johann and also Ylaa although I am not too sure where that is.

Would you consider using a private nanny? You could employ someone and have them come to your house which could be easier for you and the baby. You would have to check their references carefully and start introducing your baby to the person now. But it could be good solution.
