Sorry to barge in - but I somehow picked up the question on our Google Alert this morning.
22 Yards - I appreciate why you feel that Allen dying of lung cancer detracts from the appeal of Allen's courses - although this opinion is probably based on not knowing that after he stopped smoking Allen spent years in smoke-filled rooms helping groups of smokers to get free. It does appear that he paid the ultimate price for that (as recently as 8 years ago Allen Carr sessions throughout the world were still held in an environment where smokers could smoke throughout the session....these days - due to legal requirements - smoking breaks are provided throughout the sessions instead of in the session room). Shortly before his death Allen was asked if treating smokers at the expense of his own health had been worth it and he replied that given his method had cured millions of smokers worldwide he wouldn't change a thing (he also said that since he stopped smoking he'd been the happiest man alive and would certainly have been dead a decade earlier had he not stopped smoking when he did).
I hope that sheds a little light on the issue (and thank you so much for pointing chefai towards the books).
On the other hand chefai - there are occasional English language sessions in Switzerland but these are normally corporate sessions which are not open to the public. Perhaps the nearest thing to attending a live course is the webcast seminar. Click on the USA flag on
www.allencarr.com for details of that (it is only normally available in North America but I'll be happy to arrange a dispensation for you if you would like to go ahead with that. Just mention this if you contact the webcast team). All the best John
