Getting married in Switzerland

I am from Philippines and currently residing and working in Dubai. My fiance is in Switzerland, she is a Filipina with Switzerland citizenship. I am planning to go apply for a tourist visa by December and got married.

Is 10 days tourist visa would be enough for us to get married? I am planning to be with her in Switzerland after the marriage, Is it possible?

Also, I need to go back in Dubai for quite sometime(probably 2-3 months) to arrange my resignation, etc. Is coming back to Switzerland would be easy for me and under what visa.

Can somebody help me with my situation. I really need your advise.

Thank you in advance! God bless everyone...

Re: Getting married in Switzerland

You will need:

-Criminal Record. You must be clean.

-Proof that you are not or never been married before, if you was then divorce statement. It can be an affidavit (formal sworn statement of fact) before a notary + authenticity and stamp by Association of Notaries or College. Or death certificate if you are widowed.

-Birth Documents + ID + passport.

-All Documents must be in its original lenguage and traslated in the lenguage of destiny (German, French, Italian) for legal traslator < registered and with the stamp from some kind of Translators Association or College where the traslator belongs or whatever is called in your home country)

-All documents must be not older than 6 months.

-All documents must be with the Apostille of The Hague Convention of 1965. It allows documents from one signatory state to another without use of consular and diplomatic channels.

-The costs are around 250 CHF.

If I don't forgot anything this is what is needed to get married here.

Good Luck!

Re: Getting married in Switzerland

I think 10 days is so short. Actually it depends on the date the civil register office give you.

I might be wrong, but I think there's a compulsory waiting time between the moment you meet the civil register officer and the date for the ceremony.

Re: Getting married in Switzerland

Yes, bans = official papers showing details of both bride and groom have to be published in an official place so people have the time and opportunity to object.

What is the point of getting married in 10 days, then go away again?? Why not wait until you are ready to do it 'properly' - or am I missing something?
