Re: A man's gotta go when a man's gotta go...

That is so much more than we need to know

Buy some HN25 (it's powder containing bananas, rice and carrots.... for babies) from the pharmacy when you get home to CH, you'll be as right as rain by the next day.

Re: A man's gotta go when a man's gotta go...

Seriously though, the most sure fire home remedy which always worked and still does is to squeeze half a lemon in a cup and then pour milk over it till the cup is about half full, and then gulp the mixture as quickly as possible to ensure that the milk has no time to split till it reaches the stomach. Works like a charm. When I was growing up, medicines for such things were not always available, accessible and affordable. This was my mother's remedy.

Overripe banana consumed through the right end is also effective but no where as much as the other thing mentioned above.

The best remedy.. works 100% .

Black tea with lemon and sugar.

Put some tea leaves in boiling water. Add little sugar. Filter it and pour it in the cup and add squeeze some lemon. Drink this 3 times in a day. eat light. during the day ..

Next day everything perfectly normal ...

Re: A man's gotta go when a man's gotta go...

Black tea and/or apple juice was what the Qatar Dr told me.

Well, I have lost 6KG's in 5 days , having eaten nothing bar a few croissants and some toast, and drank as much as I could... Dr's appointment at 10.30.

I spent the last 6 months trying to lose 5Kg's in a sensible fashion :-) If nothing else, my BMI is now normal lol !

Re: A man's gotta go when a man's gotta go...

Campylobacter...

Brilliant, I stay off the local water, shellfish and pork, and get a poultry (paltry ?) bacteria...

Oh well, just glad it wasn't as first suspected and now nothing too serious.
Am still contagious and housebound for at least another week. Thanks for all the advice and concern !

UTH has a pretty decent nurse, even though I do say so myself!

I'm pleased to hear that.

I understand that the PVC nurse's uniform is particularly practical, lending itself to being wiped clean easily with a damp cloth.

Or so I'm told.

Commiserations, I got it last year after eating undercooked chicken at a Zizzi's restaurant in the UK - at least you had the excuse in being in an 'exotic' country! Sorry to say it takes a while to get over- are you on antibiotics? Make sure you do the bio yogurt afterwards. Bonne chance.

I really feel for you - the cramps were dreadful! How on earth did you cope with a plane journey. (mind you wrong 'smilie' as CB normally does not involve vomitting!).

I was very lucky, economy was 3/4 empty, (QATAR Airways) , I had a row of 4 seats and could sleep horizontally, about 3 rows from the always vacant loo's. The stewardesses soon twigged, I was woken up and offered dry croissants and told to drink plenty of water lol !
