Must have been chicken, probability wise, and I stayed away from all street food. Only time I had chicken was at a 5* resort

They have had heavy rainfall, and even in Bangkok, the sewers were rising into the streets, the stench was awful, it would be near impossible to not have caught something.

I think she did. Milk-free army chocolate is really great in cases of diarrhea.

I'll share with you my traveller's secret, Smecta. Whenever I'm in the Far East, ME or Africa I always take a sachet first thing in the morning, mixed with mineral water. I love sampling street food so this is my saviour. I get it OTC in France, but it may also be available here.

If only Mr Hatters had taken the teaniest-tottiest, tiniest-winiest bit of the hottest curry available in Bangkok, he'd have been cured in an instant...

You are mistaken, but never mind. It isn't relevant to the topic, anyway.

Hot curry ? Nah, they haven't made a curry too hot for me yet I did eat some chilli's to assist the clear out prior to going on longer trips on the car. Works a treat. Bought some teeny weeny red ones back with me , and some red/green pastes, some chilli flakes etc etc...

Although did I read recently, a few of your fellow Scorch friends ended up in hospital after attempting to eat a hot one ?

Regarding those hospitalisations, I shall tactfully refrain from mentioning the words "women" and "American" in case the OH is reading thOUCH!!

Re: A man's gotta go when a man's gotta go...

Hope you're feeling better and very happy for both of you that your lovely sweet nurse is back from the UK. Campylobacter is pretty tough if you have Diabetes so it's a very good that you're back home being cared for with access to good doctors.
Weight loss is great, as long as it's not too fast.
If the blood sugar goes completely out of whack, which can happen easily with a bacterial infection, do make an appointment with the eye doctor as well.

As for the source of infection: ice-cubes ?
It's a common one people overlook.

It certainly needs monitoring as it could lead to permanent damage. Best to let the doctors keep an eye (no pun intended) on you.

Get well soon!

Re: A man's gotta go when a man's gotta go...

It's the change of sugar level and impact on the crystalin.
Do get any appointment, you might need to change your glasses (if you have any)
