Hi,

I need to get some vacinations for a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia namely Hepatitus A, Typhoid and Malarone Maleria medication. How does this work in Switzerland? Do I contact my health insurance company and they then sort me out with a Doctor who will give me the vacinations, or are there walk in centres I can go to? Any idea of cost?

I live in Fribourg but can go to Bern easily enough. I'm with EGK insurance if it makes any difference.

I don't know the system in your canton but, here in Vaud there are special centers. Ask your Doctor.

It's not covered by the basic insurance but if you have supplementary cover this may pay for some, or all, of it.

Hi, Thanks for the quick answer. I have managed to get an appointment at the university hospital in Bern to get myself the vacinations. I have the basic medical insurance so will have to pay for the vacinations. Anyone have any idea how much they might cost?
