| | giving birth less expensive in geneva, please help
hello,
I need a information about birthplace where I can give birth cheaper. My insurance only covers up to 6000 euro all maternity (prenatal, postnatal), and some amount has already gone by check-ups, ultrasound payment. I have told that Geneva public maternity requested to be deposed 15000 chf, if the insurance doesn't cover full. And other private hospital required more.
I need a advice how to give a birth cheaper in Geneva. please if you know anything help me.
thanks for your reply,
Bolor

The cheapest birth you can have is a home birth with attendence from a midwife. But obviously this is not everyone's cup of tea .. but you did ask for "cheap" suggestions ... Hope you get something sorted to suit you.

It doesn't sound like you have swiss insurance if you give a cap in euros. Assuming you are living in neighboring France, so how about checking with the French hospitals in France around Geneva, I think they would be even less expensive.

So that people can try to help and give appropriate advice- can you confirm whether you have Swiss health insurance via one of the approved Swiss companies.

oh sorry about that,
It is weird that my insurance is Swiss Global Insurance, but i think the process runs by another french company. We are working in Permanent Mission, this insurance had done for the all workers here before we came, so I can't do anything with my insurance now.

Assume you/your spouse are one of the dipliomatic staff covered by the LAMAL exemption noted here. http://www.eda.admin.ch/eda/en/home/...ns/inshea.html As such, yes you don't have to have swiss health insurance, but you have the option of getting it during the first 6 months of receiving your legitimation card, maybe this applies to you, maybe not, but if so perhaps beneficial to look into it.
