Re: Children's world Baden
My son has been at Children's World for almost a year. There are many great things about the place, and much that could be done better. It depends on what kind of environment suits your son.
My son's main complaint is that he is bored. There is not a lot of teaching going on, and not much in the way of structured learning - either in German or English. The majority of teachers are quite young and Swiss or German and there does not seem to be much emphasis on learning numbers, letters, etc. in a group setting. They do have individual learning in the Montessori room in the mornings.
However, the hours are good for working parents, the space is bright and lively and I feel fine about him being there because I have him signed up for other classes where he is learning reading and writing (Little Poppets in Ehrendingen - highly recommended!!). If there was another bi-lingual choice with a more structured program, I would probably send him there.
So, overall, I can recommend Children's World, especially if your son is younger. If he is in the 5-6 range, then you may want to consider a kindergarten where the teachers are more experienced and have lesson plans, goals, etc... to prepare him for primary school.
I'd be happy to share more if you'd like. Another recommendation: if the English part is not that critical, there is a well-regarded Montessori in Wettingen and a kindergarten in Baden that operates completely in the forest at Baldegg. Both are Swiss-German only, but I've gotten great feedback from people with children there.
Good luck!
