Hi,

I am looking for an English teacher in the Geneva area for my 8-year-old daughter. She was educated for 3 years in the British system. She is currently attending our local school here in Switzerland. Her French is really coming along - but her English is not as good as it used to be. She has an American mother and French father so she gets both languages at home.

I would appreciate any recommendations regarding someone who can work with my daughter on her English on a weekly basis, please.

There are many different options depending on how formal/informal you want.

As I mentioned in another thread, there is Bell School in Geneva that offers language classes to children. Being 8 years old, she would likely benefit from a group setting, but maybe you want private lessons.

If want private or more informal lessons, then best to find a private teacher. If want qualified, then best to go inquire at the various language schools and see what they can provdie. Otherwise, post an ad here on EF, read the local papers, ie. La Cote, GHI, Tribune, etc. there is always someone advertising their services, or go through the Geneva University, they have a language dept. and often students are looking for extra income.
