Alimony from Switzerland

Hello I live in England for 5 years and am a permanent resident. I am divorced and have a daughter from a marriage of 9 years. The father of my child is an Italian citizen with permanent residence in Switzerland and he is not paying alimony daughter laid. Can I somehow get alimony from Italy?
Divorce is a citizen of Italy was officially made ??in Latvia, where I come from. And the court determined the amount Latvia child support, but my ex-husband ignores the court's decision and does not help with the content of his daughter.

Re: Alimony from Switzerland

I think if you are living in England and the ex-husband is living in Switzerland it might be possible. I would talk to the UK authorities (I think the CSA if it still exists) and they can help.

The UK government has agreements with a number of countries for the claiming of child benefit (alimony) from ex-husbands and Switzerland is one of the countries that is part of the agreement, so is Italy. It will be long, and difficult but might be possible. I think you need a court order because one of you doesn't live in the UK.

Start by looking at http://www.csa.gov.uk/

Good Luck.

Re: Alimony from Switzerland

The CSA are of no use here.

The UK court in your area has jurisdiction and can make an order for maintenance. Once you have the order you can get the order enforced in Switzerland via a REMO, the UK courts will assist you in making a REMO application, which will ask the courts in Switzerland to enforce the UK order as if it were their own - something that has been agreed between many countries.

PS

There has been a radical shake up, name change and re-org. The CSA is no more. Very little has been done to make this fact known. Rules have changed etc.

It is now the CMEC

Maybe he is in jail, and rightfully so
