Back and foot massage for pregnant woman

Dear all,

I am desperate to get myself pampered. My lower back is hurting and it's difficult to cut my own toe nails with the growing stomach. So I am thinking of getting a nice back massage and a foot treatment. Am also willing to spend a reasonable amount of money for these (which I won't do under non-pregnant ).

Does anyone know where I can get these treatment? Anything in Baden area would do. Zurich would be too far for me (I guess it will be also more expensive in Zurich).

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Re: Back and foot massage for pregnant woman

I know exactly what you want, as I had the same "cravings" during my pregnancy. Here comes the surprise: it will get very difficult to find somebody who will be willing to give you either a back or a foot treatment if you are quite advanced in your pregnancy, because both treatments can trigger contractions. I know, it's unfair, horrible, etc.
I ended up with an osteopath you wasn't scared of triggering contractions. He fixed my back very nicely and discovered that my first baby had to be delivered by a c-section because of my "bent" pelvis. He fixed that as well and my 2nd baby was delivered normally!
All that was back in Germany, so I can't recommed anybody, but maybe you can phone around a bit and find someone similar.
As for the feet, I'm afraid a pedicure will have to do...
Good luck with your pregnancy,
swisskat

Re: Back and foot massage for pregnant woman

I am 8 months pregnant myself and was thinking of making an appointment at LABO Spa:

http://www.salons.ch/extlinkout.cfm?...key=176299&e=j

There is an English Price list and Treatment PDF on the site.

If you are interested in getting together and trading pregnancy stories, please let me know. I just moved here 4 months ago and have not met any other expecting mothers.

Re: Back and foot massage for pregnant woman

FYI, I finally had a back massage. There are a couple, both massage specialists, at Fitness Center Baden. They offer massage for pregnant women as well. Went for a 30-min session (50 CHF). They offer 60-min session as well. I've made a 2nd appointment already in two weeks time.

I know a guy who call's himself the "foot in' master", he says he's got his technique down and everything, don't be ticklin' or nothin'. So if you're looking for a foot massage, just be asking around for "Jules Winnfield".

Hi there ! I might have a solution for pregnant ladies in Geneva area.

I'm a Massage Therapist also spcialized in Pre-Natal pregnancy and Post-Partum massage for mums... so I'm not affraid to give back and leg treatements, although food/reflexology to be excluded unless it's last weeks and you want it to go faster
My practice is in Geneva / Eaux-Vives. The location is here.

If you are interested send me a PM.

I'll be happy to help you out

Re: Back and foot massage for pregnant woman

Hi,

I had my first proper pregnancy massage today (not counting the little shoulder/back massages at home) which is about time seeing i'm 7 months pregnant and married to a medical massage therapist

It was fantastic and I'm not just saying that because my husband did the massage. I highly recommend that any pregnant woman experiences a massage especially if they have back, leg or foot aches. But please make sure that the person is qualified to do pregnancy massage because certain areas shouldn't be massaged.

If you would like any more information regarding pregnancy massage then just message me or if you're interested in the clinic my husband works at visit:

Re: Back and foot massage for pregnant woman

Hi everyone,

I am almost 7 months pregnant and desperate for a back massage. I've seen the info in this thread about the Labo Spa in Zurich, which looks great but I'd prefer somewhere in the Zug area if possible. Does anyone know of a place in Zug or nearby that offers pregnancy massage?

Thanks!

Re: Back and foot massage for pregnant woman

Thanks for your advice and for posting this how useful link here. I think people are looking all the time and in many places. If not this person then maybe someone else will come across my answer? This should be obvious and it is not a private conversation but I will be more careful in the future.

Re: Back and foot massage for pregnant woman

This thread is interesting to read, especially the bit about foot treatments. Anyone want to elaborate on how they trigger contractions? My husband has been massaging my feet every night for the majority of of my pregnancy and I'm now well into my third trimester. I've never been cautioned on this stuff.
