"one failed IVF and two failed attempts at frozen embryos...." scares me.... i am in my 14 day wait period.... did u have any further complications... i mean with infertility?
I had a failed ICSI and failed frozen - i think its pretty common for it to work more around the 3rd or 4th attempt, rare to work first time but i know a few for who it did

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

I would appreciate any info. for a good GYN in Zürich.
I was told by Dr. in GYN Art that there's no hope for ivf.
I had IVF/ICSI in USZ last year, very stressfull experience, 8 embryos fertilised, 2 tranferred, chemical Preg., told over phone by nurse, no word from Prof. Imthurm after. He insited on ICSI, said my risk if nothing happens with IVF, although we were candidates for IVF, then told me i was getting Anaesthesie for both Collection and Transfer, without being given a choice. Decided to go to GYN-ART this year, just had Long Protocol, 3 Follicles left, right nothing, she couldn't even see my right ovary during stim. and acted like that was ok. Did transfer last week with Fentanyl i.v., froze and shivered though the Collection, very painful , to be told no eggs collected and i need to go on to donor eggs. She did no flushing of the follicles and now recommends i do no more IVF, even though she has personally done no fertility testing on me. I had AMH 0.7 12/10, FSH 10, 13, 7 on day 3 cycles, have positive sperm antibodies in bld 12/10. Have had 3 miscarraiges. I would appreciate any helpful info, as am really uspet. I have made an apt. with Dr. Lang for mid.oct. to see what he says, although only have allgemeine Versicherung at mo. I found the whole treatment very poor in Unispital,no empathy whasoever and totally hectic and stressful.in GYN-ART, felt like an experimental one time try, without tailoring protocol to my situation. Thanks alot for reading my long-winded blabber, just don't want to talk about it openly to friends and don't know where to go next.

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

Just be careful about all the rules for fertility here. There are age limits and other restrictions. I've heard it is great in the Czech Republic and another Dr just on the border of Austria. Personally I went back to NYC for it, but that was my choice as I had some insurance there.

Good luck!

Did anyone have a positive experience / successful ICSI with Dr. Singer or USZ? I am desperate and any information will be helpful. Thank you.

Are you currently in the US and planning to travel here to Switzerland specifically for IVF treatment? I know some woman look for treatment outside the US due to the high cost.

I am already in Zurich. Sorry, I forgot to update my status...

How much did you pay for the treatment? Did they do any testing before the treatment? Thank you.

Hi There, I'm originally from UK, lived here just over 2 years near to Bern..
I have just started IVF treatment -/start my daily shots tomorrow!!!

I can recomended Dr Linder in Bern (his Success rate is awesome) I know of 3 ladies - had ivf in other practises - no luck ...... But Dr Linder worked his fertility magic & hey presto 1 girl 1 girl & twin boys ( both girls were concieved with only 1 embryo transfer) & it was the last embryo..
hence me trying my first IVF with him. so far so good I have heard -he will keep trying until there is no other solution

wishing you all the best Dawnie. The shots aren't too bad, eventually you'll be jabbing yourself like it's a normal every day occurrence

As IVF is costly over here I expect it's good business sense for them to 'keep trying'

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

An interesting article on an inexpensive vitamin/micro nutrient treatment that significantly improves IVF results.

Dear all, I am new to the forum but would like to share my positive experience of IVF in Geneva with you. After trying a few doctors in the area, we eventually found a brilliant doctor / person. I add the word person because Doctor Pascal Mock really has a very personal touch, unlike any other doctor we have dealt with. He is extremely professional and you feel right at ease when you enter his calm rooms, where there is calming music playing and beautiful candles burning. His team is so professional and always have a smile on their face. We went straight into the ivf cycle as per his first recommendation. In preparation for the ivf he recommended that we visit a nutritionist who was excellent and identified a few areas to focus on. Her name is Sandra Badel and she is based at the Grangette in Geneva. Her number is +41223480509. We really felt like Doctor Mock was taking a holistic approach with us and making sure that we were in good shape for the ivf. The ivf procedure ran very smoothly with an excellent team at the Grangette clinic. The whole proceedure cost around 10 000 chf. Throughout the treatment, doctor's appointments, blood tests etc....Doctor Mock made us feel calm and took away any anxiety which may have crept in. We were amazed how relaxed we were. He made excellent decisions and finally we do have a positive result which we are very pleased about. We continue with Doctor Mock for 5 months, as he monitors me every 10 days or so and has maintained the same professionalism and personal touch. He played a very large role in our state of mind throughout what is suppose to be a very stressful time. I cannot recommend him enough. His phone number is +41223202000. He also has a website which is http://www.bioivf.com/

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

Does anyone know if you have to be legally married to pursue fertility treatment in Switzerland? I heard that for IVF you have to be married. Bizarre. Also, I am interested in the most aggressive IVF available, even if that means trying it in another country, so I am open to people's suggestions. Thanks!

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

You do not have to be married, but you have to be a couple:

See Art. 3 Federal Act of 18 December 1998 on Medically Assisted Reproduction (Reproductive Medicine Act, RMA)
http://www.admin.ch/ch/e/rs/c810_11.html (in English)

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

What do you class as agressive treatment? high doses of FSH?

I would say the Swiss practice is not so agressive. My doctor didn't want to produce lots of eggs due to the risk of OHSS

I developed OHSS on a low dose with not many eggs and it was pretty awful, (hospitalised for a week) I dread to think how worse I would have been had I been given high doses of FSH and got double the amount of eggs

However I know many people who have gone to the jinemed in istanbul and had very successful cycles. I would consider going there due to it being a lot cheaper and the quality of the treatment if I was to have another cycle
