Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

I can't seem to thank anyone's comments. So I just want to second the recommendation for Dr Pantos in Athens. If you want any further details feel free to PM me anytime.

I am now 42 and have been going through treatment with Dr Pantos. Given the number of over 40/close to 50 yr olds, I have seen PREGNANT in his waiting room, he is doing something right! We also have been told, no real reason for no IVF success at this point. Dr Pantos recommended a digagnostic HYSTEROSCOPY & LAPAROSCOPY (3500 in Athens vs CHF18,000+ not covered by my health ins). Found endometriosis & a cyst (removed). He now believes - after 3 months 'break' - that we will concieve naturally. (I will update here in due course). He is really HANDS on each case personally and NOT concerned by STATISTICS (as we found in Spain). He tried to get to the bottom of each case. If he thinks it is NOT possible he will tell you. Also the treatments and medications are much more affordable there.

I was only recently made aware of the ERA test (have not had it). Maybe flying to a clinic in Italy would be an option for you?

Re: IVF information / clinics in Switzerland

I just found this meetup group for people who try to get or already got pregnant: https://www.meetup.com/Zurich-Schwangerschaft-Meetup/
Maybe we can join and organize a meeting to exchange information?

Hi BlackTee, looks like we're in the same boat. 3 FET failed, TTC 3 years.
It is unfortunate that my doctor never mentioned such tests and I learnt now on internet. Looks like ERA means Endometrial receptivity test. I think they take some tissue from your lining to see if embryo implants to it in the lab. I want to go abroad where they do pre genetic screening and investigate all possibilities why implantation never happens with me. I am now over 40 and just learnt that it is not allowed to do ivf in Switzerland after 42, and some other countries have this limitation too. I am a little disappointed with the treatments here.
Women who have unexplained infertility and who do IVF in other countries, would you please share some names? I looked at serumivf in Greece, but they don't even mention doctor names on their website, which is negative point for me.
Hi, as far as I understood you were the patient of Gynart. What do you think about this clinik? Thank you!

Hi,
I realise that your post was some time ago. I am in same boat as you - 42 and have tried in Spain and now at Genesis in Athens. This is our last attempt.

We were (both) given various tests/checks and there is no known reason why we have not conceived as yet. I have one older child with different partner so I can get pregnant.

I wish we had been advised sooner about Dr Pantos in Athens AND that we had listened to him about having the hysteroscopy & laparoscopy and done it sooner!! This enables him to check for any underlying issues that might not have been identified. I did this and have just finished his treatment following these procedures. I have personally seen pregnant women in their 50's at his clinic! He is not interested in the money - like Spain - he wants to get to the bottom of the issue for you, but he will also tell you if it is not possible. At least then you know the truth.
He believes we will now get pregnant naturally...however, due to my being 42, if not pregnant by August we will do the last round of IVF in September. The clinic is closed for the whole of August.

I hope this information might help someone.
Feel free to PM me with any questions.
